Just food for thought-

In Thom and Jess Rainers’ book “The Millennials: Connecting to America’s Largest Generation,” They suggest that the Millennial Generation (those born between 1980-2000) has become the most influential generation. Over 78 millions births occurred between 1980-2000.

What does this mean? This means that people from the ages of 11 years old to 31 years old have surpassed the Baby Boomers and have become the leading influence in America today.

What are you doing to reach this generation? Churches can not afford to miss out on the opportunity to reach this generation. I believe that if we are going to reach the world for Christ, we must start with reaching the Millennial Generation.

UPDATE:
Due to the Swine Flu scare in Mexico, we have canceled the trip to Mexico this year. I am saddened as I was really looking forward to going but I do not want to catch the flu there and bring it back home.

I am so excited. I have been given the opportunity to go on my very first mission trip. A dear friend of mine recently took over as Senior Pastor of a small church here in our hometown. Westwood Baptist has partnered with a church in Fort Smith to go on this mission trip.

I am not sure of all the details yet but I do know that we will be leaving on July 10th and returning on the 17th. Please pray for us as we prepare for this trip. Please pray for me as I prepare for my first mission trip.

I also have the opportunity on this mission trip to work with my sister-in-law. I think that this will be exciting to work with her side-by-side in minitry.
