Daily Reflection 15 March 2011
John 14:27- "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful."
Worries are easy to identify and peace may be a scarce commodity. But no times are too turbulent for God.
Things are going well here in Afghanistan. We are finally starting to get some nice weather. We had rain, hail, sleet, snow for the last several weeks, but last week kicked off the nice weather and I hope it continues.
I have decided to start taking some online classes. My classes start on the 11th of April. I am ready yet nervous at the same time.
Other than that, not much going on.
Thought this little fact was pretty interesting and wanted to share it.
Sept 11th(NY) Jan11th(Haiti) and Mar 11th (Japan)…Luke 21:10-11==Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." Jesus says, For behold I come quickly, (so…ask yourself are YOU ready?)
Luke 21:13 says "It will lead to an opportunity for you to witness"
So as we sit and look at the chaos that is going on around the world and at home…Ask yourself–AM I READY
I have been getting ready for a deployment to Afghanistan. Things have been busy with training and preparing to leave. I am currently at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
We have about 3 inches of snow on the ground right now with mnre forecasted this week.
Wow…It has been busy around the Logsdon house.
I had a 3-day drill this past weekend.
I am praying about changing jobs. I have been looking and applying for some different jobs. Please continue to pray that God will lead me to the location that He desires.
Mel is enjoying school. She is going 2 days a week.
Rylee is really enjoying being in Preschool. He gets upset on the weekends cause he can't go to school
“Today’s church calls for leaders who drive beyond their headlights and who design churches for people ‘who aren’t here yet,’ rather than defending models designed long ago to reach those who have long since come and gone and who don’t live here anymore.” [Lynn Anderson, They Smell Like Sheep]
It has been to long since I last posted. Lots of things going on around the Logsdon house. I started a new job working for an ambulance service in our area. It keeps me busy since I work 24 hours on and 48 hours off
Will get on here and update more later
— Post From My iPhone
Due to the Swine Flu scare in Mexico, we have canceled the trip to Mexico this year. I am saddened as I was really looking forward to going but I do not want to catch the flu there and bring it back home.
I am so excited. I have been given the opportunity to go on my very first mission trip. A dear friend of mine recently took over as Senior Pastor of a small church here in our hometown. Westwood Baptist has partnered with a church in Fort Smith to go on this mission trip.
I am not sure of all the details yet but I do know that we will be leaving on July 10th and returning on the 17th. Please pray for us as we prepare for this trip. Please pray for me as I prepare for my first mission trip.
I also have the opportunity on this mission trip to work with my sister-in-law. I think that this will be exciting to work with her side-by-side in minitry.
Thanks and look for updates as we get closer
How would you like to have a bank
that just gave you money. This bank deposits $86,400 a day into your
account. This money is free for you to use. Free for you to spend
however you want. Sound good?
at the close of business each day you balance is reset to zero and you
lose whatever was left in their for that day. The remaining balance
each day does not carry over to the next. But at the beginning of each
day a new deposit of $86,400 is deposited. There are never any
overdraft fees with this bank. There is no limitations on you as to how
you can spend this money.
would you do with your money then? What would you do each day with
$86,400 to spend? Would you withdrawal all of it and invest it in your
future or would you go blow it all where ever you could? At the end of
each day, would you have anything to show for the money that you spent?
Who wouldn't want a bank like this one? Who wouldn't want free money? Who wouldn't invest it in their future?
Believe it or not, you have an account at a similar bank.
have access to the Bank of Time. You are given 86,400 seconds each and
everyday to use however you want. You can invest it or you can blow it.
At the end of each day the remaining time is lost never to be given
back. At the start of each day you are given a new deposit of 86,400
seconds to use for that day.
will never have overdraft charges. You will never be charged withdrawal
fees. You are free to spend your time however you choose.
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes that there is a time and a season for everything.
Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verses 1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under
Heaven: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a
time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear
down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time
to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to
gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, 6 a time to
search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to
speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time
leave you with this thought for today: If you would take $86,400 and
invest it in your future, why wont you take 86,400 seconds that you are
given daily and do the same?
Every Friday morning then men of FBC Greenwood get together for coffee and donuts and a little Bible Study.
I used to go regularly but then the laziness got the best of me and I quit going. Who likes to get up at 530am when you can sleep in? Well, I did get up and go this morning and I am so glad that I did.
They have been talking about Spiritual Gifts and uses and misuses of each one.
Thank you to Terrance Yazel and the Mens Ministry at FBC for having a heart that reaches out to men. I am always so honored to be in the presence of such great men. Every time I go, I leave in awe at the leadership and the knowledge of the great men that come on Friday mornings.
Thanks Guys for making an IMPACT in the Kingdom
